Cafecito with Rosie Featuring Patricia Sandoval Esquire (Bilingual)
The latest episode of Cafecito with Rosie features another "Founding Nuna," Patricia Sadoval Esquire, a Bi-Vocational Pastor turned Immigration lawyer after her fifties. Even though it took three tries, she persevered and passed the Bar. Her Story is one of resilience and triumph. Here is a little of her story. The episode is Bilingual.
“Patty” Sandoval is a legal professional whose career is defined by a legacy
of service, resilience, and evolution. Born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Patty was
shaped by the powerful examples of her parents. From her father—a distinguished
politician and former Mayor of San Pedro Sula—she inherited a profound love for public service. From her mother, who became a successful entrepreneur without a formal education, she gained the courage and determination to navigate complex challenges with grace.
Patty began her academic and professional journey in her home country, graduating from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH) with a law degree. While in law school, she served as a Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Honduras, gaining a deep understanding of the judicial system from the ground up. Upon graduation, she joined her family’s multi-generational law firm, where she specialized in family law and international adoptions, impacting the lives of hundreds of children and fueling her passion for advocating for the most vulnerable.
In 2006, Patty moved to the United States under a religious visa to plant a Hispanic
church. After years of dedicated spiritual leadership and community building, she
experienced a divine PIVOT in her calling. Believing that her greatest impact would
come through the full exercise of her legal expertise, she shifted her focus entirely back to the law to serve society and seek justice for those in need.
To consolidate this transition, Patty earned both her Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law from Stetson University College of Law. Today, as an attorney at the Center for U.S. Immigration Services, Patty blends her rich heritage of service with her specialized legal training to advocate for immigrant communities and disadvantaged populations.
