Cafecito with Rosie - Guest -Haydee Acebo-Breaking the World Record

Have you ever visited Lake Tahoe? Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling California and Nevada's border. My amiga and "Compatriota" Haydeé Acebo will be attempting to become the first Latina to swim across the length of the lake. The task is 21 miles non-stop, SOLO, no wetsuit. The night swim is scheduled for August 7, 2021, at 9 p.m. The water temperature will be 65-67 degrees Fahrenheit, and swimming should take between 12 to 17+ hours. In the introduction of my book, Ñeque is defined as an indefatigable grit and resilience, a Quechua word that means "Strength and Courage.", for me, a form of inner strength. Everyone has Ñeque; some people are more developed than others. Back in the Day when I was surviving, I lived a life of chaos and calamity ruled by my emotions and fires that I needed to deal with constantly. One day a friend of mine invited me to a Sunday service, and my life changed forever. I was using my Ñeque to survive, but after a lot of self-discovery and personal development, I now use it to inspire others to find theirs. The purpose is to impact the community with a Pure and Positive attitude that generates change. Sean Callagy calls this "Integrity Based Human Influence." It all started by finding out that matching people with the right Insurance policy made them feel safe and happy. They were acknowledged and heard, and what they said matter—creating a community of happiness and eagerness to help other people. I am grateful that I find Inspiring and Courageous people daily to fuel my "Ñeque."
